There is so much segregated information out there in the medical world. One, I had no idea how little basic knowledge I have about my body and how it works. I’ve only looked at a small percent of functionality and I was astounded at how misinformed I was. Research is great, except that there aren’t consistent answers out there. I think the medical field is like silos. And if you’re lucky, someone tosses you into the proper silo if the need arises. But things seem to remain compartmentalized. I found that I have to be responsible for being the person who knows everything about me and I don’t know everything about me. Isn’t the doctor supposed to keep track of all that and hook it all up into one big picture? Wow, I know NOTHING. I like to suppose and hypothesize and ask questions, but I don’t get far because I don’t have enough knowledge.

I keep hearing the saying ‘Physician heal thyself’ in my head the last week or so. From the bible. Could be Jesus.
